3 trial. It has been observed in the incidence of acid peptic
diseaseismoreinpeoplewhotakemoreofsalt.Itismentioned
in Caraka Samhita. They have validated that using a clinical
study. Now the whole system - I am proud to represent
Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam and Research Institute which
was the only one in India to have associated with WHO
and ICMR to study the whole system of Ayurveda in the
late 1970s. The study on efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment
in rheumatoid arthritis was the first attempt by any
traditional medical systems to subject their practice to
rigid scientific assessment. In appreciations of that those
we received again fromAmerica’s NIH (National Institutes
of Health) through University of Washington to conduct
a pilot study on double blind placebo controlled trial of
classical Ayurvedic treatment in rheumatoid arthritis.
The physician had the full freedom to diagnose and treat
the condition according to his Ayurvedic understanding.
There was not just one medicine but 63 products to treat
rheumatoid arthritis in this trial. The physician logic and
freedom were exempted from the scrutiny. But the cases
were parallelly diagnosed and monitored by allopathic
doctors and scientists. So this is also a very successful
