One popular complains against all the traditional
system is the absence of the evidence. So there is a
movement called evidence based medicine. The head of
anapex conventional medical institution the US once told
that “in God we believe, all others must have data”. If I say
that I have cured a disease, I need to have a data to prove
that. Here we face difficulty due to the complexity of this
science and with the concept of body, its mechanisms,
its action, disease… everything is different from the
modern science and with the assessment tools which are
developed for that system. But still there are successful
efforts to study procedures, diet, drug and even the whole
treatment and I am giving few examples here. Shirodhara
will be demonstrated here. This study happened in Japan
and the scientist is associated with our institution . He
has developed a robot which does the treatment at the
same time measures the physiological and psychological
changes that the person undergoes. So it is found that
shirodhara has anxiolytic effect and also it induces
a altered state of consciousness. It improves the immunity
also. Ksharasutra is very affective in fistula –in-ano
and is 98% successful, and there is only 2% chance of
recurrence and happens to be the best treatment available
when compares to conventional ones. It is again one plant
tried for type Two diabetes. It is a drug studied by ICMR.
Another drug called Picrorrhiza kurroa, is very popular
