When you want to know more about the body
or the physiological and structural balances we need to
understand one of the concept of Indian philosophy which
has been adopted in Ayurvedic system as well i.e. Man is
the microcosm of the macrocosm
It means we are just a miniature representation of
the major universe which we see. Whatever we see inside
is there outside and whatever is there inside is within us
also. This is because all living and non-living are composed
of five elements, prithvi, apa, tejo, vayu and akasham
which could be losely translated as earth , water, fire, air
and ether. It givesan ideabut actually that’snot the translation
it is prithvi,ap, tejas,vayu and akasha. This concept, that
every above made of 5 elements, makes all ayurvedic
treatments possible. When there is something missing
in the body you can choose from the plant, animal or
mineral kingdom from outside and then substitute inside
the body. So there is a saying that there is nothing that
is non – medicinal in the world. We were talking about
Jivaka. He studied in of the old University. There was the
system of paying the fees at the end of the course and that
we called as Gurudakshina. He approached the guru after
the study and asked “what should I pay as the fees?”. To
