However there is an Ayurvedic concept of evidence and
there are also many international quality researches done
on single herbs, formulations and treatments the results
of which will be presented.
Current Status of Ayurveda: A Global Force:
Hungary, Russia, UAE, South Africa, Mauritius,
Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, SAARC Nations are countries
which have granted recognition to Ayurveda to a
reasonably good extent. African and Latin American
countries have given due importance to Traditional Health
Systems. Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Korea,
European Union (Italy and France) U.K. and Netherlands
are countries in which the utility of Ayurveda is on the
rise. USA and Germany are countries with immense
regulatory curbs in the trade of Ayurveda products and in
practising it as a medical system. Interestingly these two
are the countries having a major following of Ayurveda.
Scientific suspicion of the medical community, studies
published in JAMA (Journal of American Medical
Association) regarding the prevalence of heavy metals in
some of the Ayurvedic medicines sold over–the-counter
in America and the political discouragement from various
powerful lobbies is perceived to be the reason for these
restrictions.
