upon the point that India has been a preferred destination
for higher education among Thai students and scholars and we
cherish this fact. More than six thousand Thai students studied
in India last year. The government of India gives over a
hundred scholarships to Thai students under its different schemes
for studies in various fields, including engineering, information
technology and Science. A joint Working Group set up under the
Memorandum of Understanding on Education signed between India
and Thailand gives focused direction to education exchange
programmes between the two countries.
I sincerely wish and am sure that the Mahidol University
will continue to light the lamp of education and serve the cause of
national development.
